Even so, he did not speak ill of the company. “He sent me a bunch of stuff they had laying around. Anything makes me happy, I appreciate anything I receive.”

He points out that the place where he works “is a large company… but like most large corporations, they have lost contact with their workers and because of the covid they began to cut programs ”.

Seeing the envelope that came in the bag, Kevin got excited thinking it was a bonusuntil he saw that it was a movie ticket.

“We used to get checks for 20 years, and that’s what I really thought the movie ticket was. It wasn’t even two movie tickets, it was one. So I said ‘this is too much’, I can’t believe it, it seemed like it was stuff they had laying around that they put together.”lament.

The video went viral and in the face of the outrage that was unleashed, Burger King issued a statement.

“The brand Burger King and its many franchisees across the country are committed to recognizing and celebrating the accomplishments of the thousands of people who serve in a wide range of roles, all of whom are dedicated to providing our customers with a world-class experience.”

Seryna Ford, Kevin’s daughter, created a page on GoFundMeexplaining the history of his father.

“The man in the video is my father. He has worked 27 times in his job and yes, he has never been absent”.

He explained that Kevin started working there as a “single father, getting custody of my sister and me, 27 years ago.”

Then the man remarried and the family grew. He “He kept working there for his health insurance. That meant that all four of his daughters had health coverage through high school and college.”

Kevin, he narrated, “keeps working there, because although he looks young, he is approaching retirement age and leaving would cost him his retirement.”

Seryna said that “in no way are we asking for money or he is expecting money, but if someone feels like blessing him, he would love to visit his grandchildren.”

As of Monday, the campaign had raised $159,317.
