Strong earthquake was recorded in western Panama

An earthquake of magnitude 6.5 shook Panama this Thursday, being felt especially in the west of the country, with no record of people injured or damaged according to the first official information.

The Institute of Geosciences of the University of Panama (UP-state) specified that the telluric movement was recorded at 6:57 local time (13:57 GMT) 72 kilometers from the island of Coiba (Pacific), at a depth of 10 kilometers.
