She was hospitalized in an emergency and when she found out what caused the health problem, she couldn’t believe it

Today it is normal to see many young people smoking electronic cigarettes or better known as vapers. However, these are not safe and several people reported health problems. In fact, a young woman named Nicole went viral when she recounted her experience as a consumer.

The young woman shared on her account Twitter a photo in which he appears in a hospital and said that he suffered “subcutaneous emphysema in the respiratory tract” from using electronic cigarettes.

A week ago I was hospitalized for subcutaneous emphysema in the respiratory tract (it is having a perforation in the trachea or lung, which caused me a lot of pain and not being able to breathe at all and also air bubbles between my skin layers). This emphysema is only caused by two things, the ‘vape’ or a strong blow to the neck, which did not happen to me”, Nicole narrated. She also explained that these types of perforations usually heal on their own, however, this did not happen to her and she had to go to the hospital where she had to stay for a week.

“Thank God I got to the hospital super on time, but in a second that air can clog your brain or heart and bye bye. I swear I didn’t think this could happen to me because of the vape either”, he counted.

Nicole admitted that at no time did she believe that this could happen to her, since she did not consume as much as the people around her and also suffered consequences for her health. “It’s one of those things that you say won’t happen to me, I don’t smoke that much, I didn’t smoke that much either. And in two days I was worth it, please people, if you can leave it, leave it! ”, She warned.

Finally, The young woman took the opportunity to leave a message in which she encourages people to investigate what they are actually consuming. “That we are getting into the lungs, there are more and more cases of these in case they want to investigate it, but at least those who know me, please leave it,” he concluded.

What evidence do we have of the effectiveness of these devices to stop smoking?

The systematic reviews and meta-analyses available on clinical trials indicate that the evidence is, to say the least, controversial.

In summary, these are devices whose efficacy in clinical trials has not been solidly demonstrated and whose potential beneficial effect is lost in studies carried out under real conditions. In addition, it is worth noting that there are better alternatives compared to electronic cigarettes.
