The US will give Ukraine 4.5 billion dollars in aid

USA will give to Ukraine 4,500 million dollars in aid so that the country can allocate these funds to budgetary needs such as hospital expenses, salaries of public employees and teachers, and social assistance for the most vulnerable.

In a statement, the Secretary of the Treasury, Janet Yellen, announced this new batch that will be sent in the coming weeks and that “combined” with military aid is intended to be an important tool in the “resistance” of Ukraine to invasion by Russia.

With this new refund the help of USA a Ukraine amounts to $13 billion, according to the statement.

“We encourage other donors to speed up their assistance to Ukraine,” Yellen said in this message in which she recalled that the US Treasury Department will continue to help the country with other tools such as the “historic sanctions” against Russia that they are “weakening the war machine” of the president, Vladimir Putin.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said last week that Ukraine has received 23 billion dollars (22.24 billion euros) in international aid since the start of the war.

Of the 23,000 million, 4,800 million dollars (4,600 million euros) come from the European Union (EU), while 8,500 million dollars (8,200 million euros) have been supplied by USA.

According to the prime minister, these funds have been used to finance, among other public expenses, the payment of civil servants’ salaries, pensions and scholarships and state aid.
