Venezuelan opposition repudiates the “rupture of the constitutional order” in Peru

The opposition of Venezuela led by Juan Guaidó rejected this Wednesday the “rupture of the constitutional order” in Peru, headed by the now former president Pedro Castilloafter his decision to temporarily dissolve Congress and establish a national emergency government.

“We recognize and celebrate the political, legal, military and police institutions of that country, whose representatives did not hesitate to enforce its Constitution, successfully confronting this attempted coup d’état,” the coalition said in a statement.

The anti-Chavistas made a Call for “peacekeeping” and compliance with peruvian constitution as “priorities” to “go through this crisis that has come without setbacks.”

“Since VenezuelaWe send our support and sincerely hope that the solutions that are reached will last over time, respecting the independence of powers and the voice of Peruvians in a truly democratic system, which today is necessary not only in that nation but in all those where authoritarianisms run over the rule of law”, added.

Castillo dictated this Wednesday to temporarily dissolve Congress and establish a national emergency government, hours before Parliament debated a vacancy (removal) motion against him that could have removed him from the head of state.

After the measure, labeled mostly as coup and not supported even by your government, he was dismissed by Congress, and arrested by the Police by order of the Public Ministry.

As of this afternoon, the ex-president has been detained in the Lima Prefecture together with the man who was his prime minister from February until two weeks ago.
