Disapproval of Bolsonaro falls to 36% on the eve of handing over power to Lula

The failure rate of the Brazilian president, Jair Bolsonarofell from 40% to 36%, less than a month after the president-elect, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, succeeds him in power, according to a survey released this Thursday.

The poll, carried out by the firm Ipec, points out that the rejection of the far-right leader’s management fell compared to last October 24, when there were six days to go before the second round of the elections that he lost to the progressive leader.

On the other hand, 39% of Brazilians consider that the Bolsonaro government is “optimum” either “Okay”, compared to 36% of the last survey, while another 23% describe it as “regular” (24% in October).

Bolsonaro, a retired Army captain, lost the presidential elections to Lula by a difference of less than two points (50.9% – 49.1%), in the closest elections in the history of Brazil.

Since then, he has not congratulated the leader of the Workers’ Party (PT) or openly acknowledged his defeat, although he did authorize the transition process to begin.

Lula77, will assume the Presidency of Brazil on January 1 for a third term, after governing the country between 2003 and 2010.

According to Ipec, 50% of Brazilians believe that the Government of Lula will be “optimum” either “Okay”, a percentage that practically coincides with the votes he obtained in the run-off on October 30.

25% affirm that it will be “appalling” either “bad” and for another 20% it will be “regular”.

The results of the survey, which has a margin of error of two points, are the result of interviews with 2,000 people, carried out between December 1 and 5, in 126 cities in the country.
