Florida: Ten injured in shootout while filming French Montana video

At least ten people were injured in a shooting Thursday night while filming a music video for American-Moroccan rapper French Montana in Miami, Florida, local media and authorities said. Police arrived on the scene around 7:48 pm local time after being told that several victims had been hit by bullets, the statement said on Friday.

The shootouts took place in front of The Licking after an altercation between two groups of people that left at least ten people injured, according to the Miami Herald. “There were at least 13, 14, 15 shots. It was very fast, it looked like an assault rifle,” Sed Mogul, who was present at the shooting of the French Montana video, assured the local WSVN channel. According to this witness, the man who came to watch the shooting was the victim of a theft that ended in degeneration.

The rapper was the victim of a shooting in 2003.

Police have yet to confirm the number or identity of victims on Friday morning, including whether rapper French Montana was injured, but said the injured were taken to hospital. French Montana, or Karim Harbush, his real name, 38, was born in Morocco before moving to the United States with his family as a teenager.

He has received three nominations for the Grammy Awards, the American music industry’s most prestigious award, notably for his “All The Way Up” title. The rapper was already the victim of a 2003 shooting in the Bronx, New York. According to American media, he survived after being shot in the head.
