Brazil: Riot police enter the presidential palace to evict Bolsonaristas

Riot police accessed this Sunday the presidential palace of Planalto, seat of the Government of Brazilwhich is taken over by hundreds of radical supporters of the former president Jair Bolsonaro.

Dozens of agents climbed the ramp that gives access to the first floor of the palace firing tear gas, while another group of uniformed men surrounded the building.

The police officers also entered the headquarters of the Federal Supreme Court, retaking control of the building, which was also taken over by radicals.

The riot police continue to confront the radicals in the vicinity of the Plaza de los Tres Poderes, where the Legislative, Executive and Judicial headquarters are located.

Hundreds of Bolsonaristas continue to occupy the headquarters of the National Congress, while the police maintain a siege in the area, according to images captured by television.

Thousands of radical supporters of former President Jair Bolsonaro violently entered the Planalto palace and the Legislative and Supreme Court headquarters this Sunday causing damage to the furniture in these buildings.

The protesters do not recognize the result of the presidential elections of October 30 and try to promote a coup against Lulawho assumed the Presidency on January 1.

After the serious events, Lula decreed the intervention of the security organs of Brasilia, to put the regional police forces under the direct orders of the Government.
