Today’s protests follow three months of massive demonstrations against the judicial reform promoted by the Government of Benjamin Netanyahuwhich seeks to grant more power to the Executive to the detriment of Justice, whose independence would be profoundly undermined.

“In these days of maximum alert throughout the country, it is of the utmost importance to leave the traffic lanes free at all times for the passage of emergency vehicles”warned a police spokesman in a statement, in which he urged the protesters to listen to instructions from police officers on the groundto avoid roadblocks, disturbances and interfere with the agents in the performance of their duties”.

These messages arrive in a climate of high tension in Israelafter the death yesterday of three people -an Italian tourist and two Israelis- in two attacks.
