He went to the hospital for a toothache and died hours later: relatives denounce negligence

Concern has generated in Argentina an alleged case of hospital negligence that caused the death of a 23-year-old man. The patient lost his life after visiting a care center for a toothache.

The death of Diego Soto It happened after a sharp pain in his teeth motivated him to go to the hospital in the Villa Regina cityin the Rio Negro province. The dental manager applied a blister and the young man was returned home.

According to the Clarín newspaper, the boy resumed his daily activities, but as the hours passed, his health worsened.

The deceased’s girlfriend April Suarezdetailed the hours of anguish that passed.

“Around 11:30 p.m. we went to bed and then he woke up scared and told me he couldn’t move. I incorporated him into the bed and there he vanished.”counted.

“Everything possible was done”

After presenting symptoms of decompensation, an ambulance was called and the young man was taken to a medical center. Although he was conscious, he couldn’t move.

My mother-in-law and I waited for the answer at the guard. Around 6 I went outside and the doctor and nurse told me that Diego had gone on strike.”, recounted his partner.

We did everything possible, but he did not overcome cardiac arrest ”, said the nurses after leaving the emergency room. The family assured that there was malpractice and the diagnosis was requested immediately.

He was a healthy, athletic and active man

The relatives of Diego They denounced the hospital for a bad procedure in the care of the young man. It was concluded, in the first instance, that death was due to pulmonary edema.

“They never explained his paralysis to us, or anything that could have happened to him. We believe there was malpractice. We made the complaint and asked for the autopsy, which at first the doctor did not want to have it done, and she told us that the hospital was not going to take responsibility for it ”, family members reported.

The case came into the hands of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the information was published by the local media Río Negro. “Now we have to carry out subsequent analyzes and for this, samples have already been taken to carry out toxicological and hispathological studies”the authorities reported.

The Suárez family and the public body of the province await the result of the autopsy and find out the real reasons for the death of the young Argentine.

It was identified that the injections used in the body of Diegobefore suffering paralysis, contained diclofenac and dexamethasone. These drugs are not related to pulmonary edema or are the cause of it, since they are anti-inflammatory.
