Nicolás Maduro assures that Venezuela is “consolidating” military power

The president of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduroassured this Thursday that the country is “consolidating” military power, after the new commanders of the Army, the Navy, the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB, militarized police) and the Militia received the banners during an act at the Ministry of Defense, in Caracas.

Venezuelawe can say today, has a military power that is the backbone and guarantee of the union, cohesion and peace of our country”, expressed the head of state after congratulating the new heads of these components of the Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB).

He assured that this institution is “expression of the military power of a free country like Venezuela”, which could “resist, face and get ahead of so many aggressions” and “attacks” by the “external enemies”, among which he mentioned “US imperialism and its satellite allies of the world”.

Maduro congratulated the new commanders, who promised to work “attached to the Constitution” and to the “laws and regulations” of the country, and reaffirmed their “loyalty“to the president”and to the people”.

The Head of State also congratulated Major General Santiago Alejandro Infantewho “stays in front of Bolivarian Military Aviationguarding the air spaces 24 hours a day” of the “holy homeland”.

Maduro appointed as the new Commander General of the Army Jose Murgafrom the Navy to Neil Villamizar Sanchezfrom the GNB to Elio Estrada and the Bolivarian Militia to Javier Marcano Tabata.

On July 7, the president ratified the Defense Minister, Vladimir Padrino Lopezin charge of this State portfolio for the ninth consecutive year.

It also ratified in the Operational Strategic Command of the FANB to Domingo Hernandez Larez for his achievements in thestrengthening of combat capacity” of the institution.
