Federal investigation into former head of state

A big favorite in the Republican primary, Donald Trump announced on July 18 that he had received a letter from Jack Smith revealing that he was personally the target of a federal investigation into attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election, and in particular the Storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021.

On that day, he delivered an impassioned speech to his supporters gathered outside the White House, urging them to “fight with all their might” against the results of the presidential election, which were supposed to be confirmed by elected officials.

Then the crowd invaded the Capitol, scenes of violence and chaos shocked America and the whole world.

The former head of state has already been indicted by the courts in a case involving confidential documents from the White House and suspicious payments to a former X-movie actress.
