Xi announces in meeting with Maduro the strengthening of ties between China and Venezuela

The Chinese president Xi Jinping announced this Wednesday in a meeting with his counterpart Nicolas Maduro in Beijing strengthening relationships with Venezuelawhich will be raised to their maximum level.

“I am very happy to announce with you the elevation of relations between China and Venezuela at a level of strategic partnership for all times“, said Xi according to images broadcast on state television.

This is the highest level of Chinese diplomatic relations. Only a handful of countries (Pakistan, Russia, Belarus) have this deal.

Maduro visited Beijing for the last time in 2018 – his tenth trip to China-, an occasion in which he praised the vision of Xi of a “common destiny for humanity.”
