Convened by the Collective for the Liberation of Palestine and under the slogan “End Genocide. “Free Palestine now!”, the protesters marched from Praça do Município, where the Lisbon City Council is located, to the doors of the Assembly of the Republic.

The protest participants, who carried flags of Palestine and posters with messages such as “peace”, “end the occupation” or “one Holocaust does not justify another”, shouted slogans such as “liberate, liberate Palestine” and “liberate Palestine today and forever”.

Likewise, some carried red-stained sheets and fake shrouds representing children killed in the conflict.

“Israel must be forced to stop the massacre,” he insisted.

The war between Israel and Hamas broke out on October 7, when the Islamic group launched a surprise attack on Israeli soil that left around 1,200 dead and more than 200 kidnapped and taken to the Gaza stripthat controls.
