Death toll rises to 24 in Ukrainian attack on Russian city of Belgorod

The number of deaths due to the attack carried out this Saturday by Ukrainian forces against the Russian city of Belgorod rose to 24, the governor of the border region of the same name reported today with Ukraine, Vyacheslav Gladkov.

At 08:30 local time (05:30 GMT), deaths stood at 24″Gladkov wrote on his Telegram account, specifying that four of the fatal victims are children.

He added that 108 injured people are admitted to hospitals, 25 of which are in serious condition and will be transferred to clinics in other regions of the country.

The region of Belgorodwhich shares 552 kilometers of border with UkraineIt was the Russian entity most affected by border incidents since the start of the military conflict in February 2022.

With the attack on Belgorod, the Ukrainian army would have responded to the massive bombings carried out the previous day by Russian forces against Kyiv and other cities in Ukraine, the largest of the entire war, since Moscow used around 160 missiles and drones.
