New York court declassifies court documents associated with Jeffrey Epstein

The US Department of Justice published this Wednesday a first batch of court documents related to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein, accused of trafficking and sexual abuse of minors, which until now were confidential.

The documents are part of a defamation action filed in 2015 by Virginia Giuffreone of Epstein’s main accusers, against his former lover and companion, the British heiress Ghislaine Maxwelland have attracted media attention due to the expectation that they contain the names of prominent figures related to the billionaire.

However, many of the names are expected to already be known, as they were identified during the 2021 trial against Maxwell, sentenced to 20 years in prison for helping the financier sexually abuse minors; They gave interviews or were the target of complaints.
