Qatar pledges to invest 10 billion euros in the French economy by 2030

President Emmanuel Macron announced that on Tuesday he signed an agreement with Qatar’s Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani regarding Qatar’s investment commitment in the French economy worth 10 billion euros by 2030.

“We have signed an ambitious investment plan of 10 billion euros,” he said during an exchange of toasts at the opening dinner for the emir, who is on a state visit to France. These investments will be made in sectors such as the energy transition, semiconductors, aerospace, artificial intelligence, digital technologies, healthcare and cultural industries.

On Tuesday evening, the Emir dines at the Elysee Palace in the company of the President of the Republic and captain of the French football team, Kylian Mbappe.

During his two-day visit to Paris, Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani is also due to discuss with Emmanuel Macron negotiations between Israel and Hamas on a truce in the Gaza Strip.
