Touched, she pauses for a few seconds, inhales, and then blurts out, her eyes sparkling: “My name is Behishta, and I am Afghan. » A 25-year-old young woman has just received a Master’s degree in management from a prestigious school located a few kilometers from Versailles (Yvelines). It is also the promise of new life.

His world came crashing down in August 2021 when the Taliban took power in Afghanistan. Bekhishta was 22 years old at the time. A graduate of Kabul University, she works for one of the country’s first impact investing platforms: “In one night, I lost everything: my home, my homeland, my freedom. »
