Chile: Kast Extends First Place Lead Over Boric, Latest Cadem Presidential Poll

This Monday the results of the most recent Public Square Cadem Survey for the presidential elections in Chile, when there are only 27 days left for the November 21 elections to take place.

In this context, as in the previous analysis, this week the candidate of the Christian Social Front is leading, Jose Antonio Kast, who increased their advantage reaching 23% in voting intention, surpassing Gabriel Boric, from Approve Dignidad, who remains at 20%.

Now, if major changes, third appears Yasna Provoste, with 12%, followed by Sebastian Sichel with 7%. Then there are Franco Parisi with 6%, Marco Enriquez Ominami with 5% (+ 1pt) and Eduardo Artés with 1% (-2pts).

Meanwhile, 26% of those surveyed stated that they would not vote for any of the candidates, do not know or do not respond.

On the other hand, in terms of expectations, 33% (-3pts) believe that the Broad Front candidate will be the next president of Chile, followed by closet with 26% (+ 6pts), Provoste (13%, -3pts), and Sichel with 7% (-2pts).

Similarly, regarding the level of adherence of the candidates, 46% (+ 6pts) say they have decided or could vote for Provoste, 45% (+ 6pts) that they would for Boric, 42% (+ 10pts) for Kast, 41% (+ 4pts) by Sichel, 28% (+ 8pts) by Enríquez Ominami, 25% (+ 4pts) by Parisi and 17% (+ 6pts) by Artés.

Meanwhile, the level of rejection of all candidates continues to be above 50%.

Presidential evaluation

On the other hand, as is traditional, the survey also consulted about the approval of President Sebastián Piñera’s management, revealing that it rose 2 points, reaching 18%.

Meanwhile, his disapproval fell by three percentage points, standing at 76%.

Likewise, 69% approve of the President’s management in the framework of the health crisis due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It should be noted that this survey was carried out between Wednesday 20 and Friday 22 October and had a probability sampling, with random selection, of 1,007 cases and a total coverage of 209 communes.

Meanwhile, 90% of the sample was applied to the urban population and 10% to the rural population.
