Two motorcycle thieves die who were run over and shot by their victim in Colombia

Two alleged robbers died in Barranquilla, Colombia, after being run over by a car and shot by the man who had had a gold chain stolen minutes before.

The case was registered this Friday afternoon in the Recreo neighborhood, center of Barranquilla. The two men were taken to a medical center, where they died hours later.

According to the report delivered by the operational commander of the Metropolitan Police of Barranquilla, the Colonel John Sepúlveda, the victims were identified as Munir Antonio Mariscal, 36, who died on Friday, and Moisés David Montero Gamarra, 22, who died on Saturday.

Deadly pursuit

The case was registered around 4:45 pm, on Calle 57 with Carrera 41. The two men who were fleeing on a motorcycle were reached there, minutes after committing the robbery.

The robbery victim was driving a Renault Sandero with which he rammed them. He then disarmed one of the men who tried to shoot him and attacked him with the same weapon.

Witnesses to the event say that they tried to help the wounded, but when they saw that they had a weapon, they turned away.

The driver of the vehicle was captured by the Police and presented before the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation.
