The property tax will increase in several cities of the department

The community council of the Roissy Pays de France agglomeration (Seine-et-Marne) voted on March 17 to increase the rate of the inter-municipal property tax. The latter will go from 3.94% to 4.58%, indicates The Marne.

At the same time, the rental base, i.e. the value of the accommodation, should increase by 3.4%, thus resulting in a total of nearly 20% in additional taxation on the property tax, according to Hervé Touguet, elected community representative. According to his calculations, a resident who paid 1,000 euros in property tax will now pay 1,043 euros. These increases could be explained by a cost of four million euros generated by clean-up work.

Another hike to come?

The agglomeration community would thus have been forced to use this lever, because it was planning an upcoming budget reduction due to recent increases in the cost of raw materials. A hole of five million euros concerning the financing of the household waste collection service could also cause a future increase in the tax associated with this service.
