Airbus: between record orders and necessary capacity increases, aviation’s flagship is over the moon

In the huge hangar of Blagnac, on the outskirts of Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), four A320 and A321 Neo aircraft are being assembled on the new Airbus production line opened last July to replace the line dedicated to the A380. The second should be built by 2026 in parallel and in the same place.

In an equally gigantic building next door, three other planes are being fitted with seats and beginning a series of ground tests before being painted and flight tests begin. About 700 journeymen (the internal term used to describe workers who work on aircraft) work from 6am to midnight, five days a week, producing planes for airlines around the world.
