Lady Gaga needed a psychiatric nurse on the set of “House of Gucci”

Lady Gaga had previously indicated that she got so involved in her role for House of Gucci that she had remained in her character for nine months, the duration of the shoot. One way to use his “dark side” to better transcribe Patrizia Reggiani on screen. But in an interview for Variety, the star said the situation had become so critical from a mental health standpoint that she had to call a psychiatric nurse on the set.

“I felt like I had to do it. I felt it was safer for me. Because I always stayed in the role of Patrizia. I spoke constantly with his accent. And even though I was talking about things that weren’t related to the movie – I wasn’t claiming that Maurizio (her husband played by Adam Driver) was waiting for me downstairs – I was still living his life. I just lived like her, ”she explained.

“When it goes too far, it can be difficult to get by on your own”

If Lady Gaga is talking about it today, when the promo for the film is over (and the Ridley Scott drama has put on a disappointing performance), it is to warn actors and actresses who would be tempted, like her, to keep their characters with them after the shoots.

“I don’t think an actor has to reach that limit. And I wonder all the time why I do it. I’ve done some pretty extreme things in my career – things that I’ve done to my body, to my mind. It’s like a nut of sadness in my stomach when I tell you this. I don’t know why I am like this. I think the best answer I can give you is that I have a kind of romantic relationship with suffering to make art out of it (…) and that sometimes goes too far. And when it goes too far, it can be difficult to pull it off on your own, ”she added.

The result is still there since the singer and actress was nominated for the Golden Globes for her performance, and she is approached to be nominated for the Oscars.
