The number of hospitalizations remains stable

The number of people hospitalized due to the Coronavirus appears to be stabilizing. Sunday, 10,012 patients were admitted, six less than the day before, according to data published by Public Health France. As a reminder, there were 10,410 patients with Covid-19 in hospitals a week earlier. In the last 24 hours, hospitals have admitted 187 new patients.

Critical care services receive 2,129 patients, including 34 who arrived between Saturday and Sunday. These care units, where the most serious cases are treated, had 2,217 patients last Sunday. In the last 24 hours, 29 Covid-19 patients (47 the day before) have died in hospitals, bringing the total toll to 115,517 since the start of the epidemic.

The positivity rate continues to decline

The number of new infections amounts to 7,679 and the positivity rate, which measures the proportion of positive cases compared to the number of people tested, to 2.1%, continuing to decline.

Regarding vaccination, 49,637,966 people have received at least one injection (i.e. 73.6% of the total population) and 46,668,941 people now have a complete vaccination schedule (i.e. 69.2% of the total population), according to the DGS.
