Paolo Guerrero returned to training in Videna

Paolo Guerrero left the playing fields in October last year to treat his knee injury and rehabilitate abroad. After almost seven months, the striker returned to Peru in the early hours of the past part and, this Wednesday, he returned to training in Videna.

In the morning hours, the ‘Predator’ went to the facilities located in San Luis to carry out some tactical and strength movements. He claims to be fully recovered from his illness, which he suffered in 2021, but he still needs to reach his best physical condition.

The usual routine that Paolo executes was complemented with the instructions of the technical command of the Peruvian National Team. Néstor Bonillo, physical trainer of the ‘Blanquirroja’, was present and accompanied the ‘Predator’ in the exercises that he did.

Rodrigo Araya, Argentine personal training and who works with the footballer, uploaded the videos of Paolo’s training in Instagram stories. Later, the images were spread by different pages on Twitter such as Pulse Sports.

It is important to mention that Guerrero’s last match was on October 7 of last year in the victory (2-0) against Chile in Lima for the Conmebol Qualifiers. The attacker played 62 minutes and replaced Jefferson Farfán.

Will Guerrero be summoned for the playoff?

The historic scorer of the Peruvian National Team clarified in a conversation with FIFA that for the national team “I would play until I lame”. So, a few days after knowing the list of summoned (it leaves on Friday, May 20) with a view to the playoff to Qatar 2022, the 38-year-old footballer clarified that he prioritizes his return to football.

“If they don’t call me, I’ll keep working”Guerrero began. Then he was more emphatic: “I am getting ready to play football again, it is my passion. I’m not just preparing for one or two things.”, he added. In that sense, Paolo mentioned that he will do his best to find a club as soon as possible.
