Peruvian National Team: When does the squad list for the matches against Paraguay and Brazil come out?

The selection manager, Antonio García Pye, confirmed that on August 25 the list of summoned for Juan Reynoso to face the beginning of the Playoffs 2026where Peru will collide against Paraguay (V) and Brazil (L).

He also gave details on the situation of Gianluca Lapadula after undergoing surgery on his right ankle and the estimated time he will be off the pitch.

“I estimate that on August 25 the roster will be known to start on Monday, August 28 with the players who are in the local championship”said Garcia Pye to Ovation.

“We are still not sure what can happen with Gianluca, yesterday I spoke with him and he is very excited to reach the second double date, but that depends on his evolution and what the specialists say”he added.

He also indicated that the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) has requested that the FIFA requirements on the venue be respected, since the game against Paraguayan (September 7) will be played in Ciudad del Este, a smaller town than Asunción.

“There is not much difference in terms of logistics, since it will be a charter flight and that makes it easier. Ciudad del Este is smaller with less possibilities of courses. We have requested that FIFA regulations be complied with, as the lighting did not yet meet FIFA requirements”he pointed.

Finally, García Pye assured that the Monumental and Matute stadiums are suitable to host qualifying matches in the event of any unforeseen event, but reiterated that the National Stadium will always be a priority.
