Waldir SaenzAlianza Lima’s historic scorer, commented in the run-up to the Peruvian soccer classic between the blue and white and the creams that it will be a fairly balanced match due to the present of both teams.
Furthermore, he questioned that a match that arouses such expectations is played on the third round of the championship.
“It will be a very hard-fought match, both will want to win. I would have liked it to be on the fifth date so that both teams arrive with more games, more minutes, it happened now and it will be a difficult game for both,” said the former soccer player in statements to the press.
“Especially Alianza, which will not be able to play at home, but will try to do things well and get a favorable result,” he added.
On the other hand, he sent a much more conciliatory message, after the cream idol José ‘Puma’ Carranza launched strong qualifiers against the La Victoria club in the run-up to the classic.
“The people of Alianza Lima are not interested in ‘Puma’s’ comments, they don’t care, they are involved in their work. What we talk about is irrelevant, everyone is the owner of their words,” said Sáenz.
“If he doesn’t want to respect, that’s his issue, on this side we do have respect for the rival because it’s just a football match,” he concluded.
Alianza Lima and Universitario de Deportes will face each other this Saturday, February 10 from 8:00 pm at the National Stadium.
