Hector ChumpitazPeruvian and world soccer legend, is celebrating his birthday and receiving international recognition for his impeccable career.

Chumpitaz was part of the golden generation and the great captain of the Peruvian team in the 70’s that participated in two editions of the Copa América, winning the 1975 one.
In addition to being the captain of the red and white team, he had the responsibility of wearing the armband representing our entire continent.
On October 31, 1973, as the first celebration for World Football Day, FIFA decided to organize a friendly match for charity, between the South American National Team and the European National Team, at Barcelona’s Camp Nou Stadium in Spain.
Representing South America, the team was made up of: Miguel Ángel Santoro (ARG), Luis Pereira (BRA), Marco Antonio (BRA), Héctor Chumpitaz (PER) as captain, Kike Wolff (ARG), Víctor Escárrago (URU), Rivellino (BRA), Teófilo Cubillas (PER), Miguel Ángel Brindisi (ARG), Paulo César (BRA), Hugo Sotil (PER).
