Double French podium in Italy! Coleen Devyar won the vault final at the European Gymnastics Championships this Saturday in Rimini. Two-time European champion (2017 and 2023), world bronze medalist in 2022, the Insep resident scored 13.866, the average score of her two jumps was 14.366 and 13.366.
The score is slightly lower than that obtained in qualifying (13.983 points), but this is enough for 23-year-old Colleen Devilar to beat Bulgarian Valentina Georgieva (13.799 points). First up, the French clan picked up another medal with the third place finish of Ming Gherardi van Eyken, just 16 years old, who finished second in qualifying earlier this week.

“We have been preparing her for months on all levels – technical, physical and mental – so that she can take on older gymnasts without worrying,” her coach Eric Hagard explained to us this Friday. A World Junior medalist in 2023, she scored the first international podium of her young career during her first major selection.
