University student rejects approval of the FPF statutes: “It is worth the pronouncement of FIFA”

University ruled against the approval of the new statutes of the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF), joining the few teams that rejected the change. “Sand irregularly and arbitrarily approved”The modification, noted the cream club.

Through an official statement, the student entity made a series of warnings against the controversial fact after not attending the vote.

According to the Arbitration Award issued by the CAS, the FPF does not have a current Board of Directors ”, started highlighting academic. “We have been summoned under the statute of 2009, which was declared invalid by judicial order followed by Sunarp, a fact that is recorded in the electronic entry of the FPF”He added.

In that sense, it indicated that “The Assembly of Bases will be found validly constituted, only, when 100% of the Assemblymen are constituted and decide to hold an Assembly under the Statute of 1996″. He also recalled that “Virtual Assemblies are not contemplated in the Statute”.

We presented a duly documented letter to the FPF, which was never acquitted”, Says the latest notice from the ‘U’ in this regard.

Once a series of irregularities have been warned, and since there is no legal framework to convene or carry out said Assembly, we discard our participation in a null and unsubstantiated act, which could have criminal consequences for its participants.”, Emphasized the merengue entity.

Finally, Universitario expressed “solidarity with the clubs that voted against and were run over in an Assembly that will not have any legal effect”, In support of Alianza Lima, Sporting Cristal and Melgar. “We are sure it will merit FIFA’s pronouncement”Says the statement.

The statutes had already been annulled by the TAS in a recent ruling that gave the reason to these three clubs with respect to the agreements made by the previous assembly, held in October 2019.

This Friday, in a new assembly, the FPF approved modified statutes under a FIFA proposal that obtained 36 votes in favor, three against and one abstention.

The assembly was not attended by three other members, among them University, Cienciano and the Departmental League of the La Libertad region.

The three votes against were those of Alianza Lima, Sporting Cristal and Melgar, who denounced that they were prevented from intervening in the assembly both before and after the vote.

Uncertain outlook

Since 2018, the organization of the national professional soccer championship has been left to the Federation, to the detriment of the Professional Soccer Sports Association (ADFP), formed by the clubs.

The most controversial point for the complaining clubs is the joint commercialization of the television rights of the domestic tournament, since they do not agree that it is the FPF that administers them.

The recent sentence of the TAS was a severe setback for the FPF, which months ago had already been sanctioned by the same Court when it found that it had irregularly benefited the Carlos Stein club so that it remained in the first division to the detriment of Alianza Lima, whose descent to the second division was annulled.

The ruling forced the postponement of the FPF elections, scheduled for September, and where the current president, Agustín Lozano, headed the only list in contention, since the statutes approved in 2019 greatly restricted the profile of candidates, leaving out people like him sports director of the FPF, Juan Carlos Oblitas.
