Nicolás Otamendi suffers assault by assailants who entered to rob his home

Argentine soccer player Nicolás Otamendi experienced moments of tension early this Monday after he was the victim of aggression by criminals who entered to rob his home. This was reported by the Portuguese media ‘Correio da Manhã’.

According to the aforementioned newspaper, four assailants intercepted the Benfica defender, who was returning home after the victory (4-1) against Famalicão. Then, they put a belt around his neck and thus made him enter the house where his wife and son were.

The victims panicked, however, the theft did not happen to adults and the criminals only stole money and family belongings.

Likewise, the country’s Judicial Police is already investigating the robbery in order to find the identity of the thieves as soon as possible. In addition, they have put security guards at the door of the defender’s house.

For its part, the Portuguese club confirmed that the Argentine is stable. “Benfica confirms that its player Nico Otamendi was the victim of a robbery at his home during the early hours of today. The athlete and the family are doing well, despite the enormous discomfort generated by the situation they are going through “it said in a statement.
