Vespa 50 Special-e: the classic Italian icon returns restored in an electric version

However, this time Garage Italia, a workshop specializing in the customization of classic vehicles, has worked on the renovation of the Vespa 50, designed for the youngest in 1964. Now, as a fully electric vehicle, it has received the name of Vespa 50 Special-e.

The vehicle was presented in Milan, as part of the Milan Design Week. “I am very happy to be able to present Garage Italia Customs Special-e because for me the Vespa is not just an icon of style and design,” said Lapo Elkann, founder of the well-known Italian workshop.

According to the company’s website, the electrified motorcycle has an engine in the side compartment, with a power of 7kW and a range of 100km, registering superior performance compared to the latest technologies on the market today.

The model maintains the pastel colors of its glory years. At the moment it will only be produced in a small number of units. No further information on its electrical function has been reported.

It is worth remembering that the Vespa brand has its own electric model. This is the Vespa Elettrica, which was launched at the end of the last decade, which could reach a maximum speed of 45 km/h, with a range between 70 and 100 km.
