They seize more than 6 kilos of gold from FARC dissidents in Bogotá

The authorities of the El Dorado airport seized 6.7 kilos of gold that were supposedly owned by the dissidents of the FARC and that a man intended to enter the Colombian capital.

The chief of staff of the Naval Force of the East, the captain of the ship Ramses Ramirezsaid that the seizure was achieved in a requisition thanks to intelligence information provided by the Colombian Navy, the Colombian Air Force and materialized by the Police.

The man who was transporting the gold arrived in Bogotá from Inírida, the capital of the jungle department of Guainía, on the border with Venezuela.

Through the investigations, it was determined that this mineral had been illegally extracted in the department of Guainía and “belonged to Acacio Medina Front of the dissidences of the FARC and that it was going to be traded illegally.”

The dissidences of the FARC They are, according to the authorities, the main responsible for the impact caused to the environment in this part of the country because they are part of networks that illegally exploit gold for which they use chemicals that contaminate the water and soil.

The captured and the 6.7 kilograms of gold were made available to the prosecution.
