Guillermo Lasso appoints a new Minister of Transport and Public Works in Ecuador

The president of Ecuador, William Lassoappointed this Wednesday César Rohon as Minister of Transportation and Public Works to replace Darío Herrera.

The General Secretariat of Communication of the Presidencyto reported that Rohonwho was a legislator but resigned last year, has an outstanding political and business career.

Rohon will drive the Public Works and more urgent roads for the benefit of the citizenry, assured the Communication Secretariat.

The new minister took office a few hours before Lasso delivered his report to the nation for the second anniversary of his mandate.

The president will present his report in the south of the city and not at the Assembly headquarters because he dissolved the Legislature last Wednesday by decreeing the “death cross“and request the call for early elections to form the Executive and the Legislative, which will be in functions until May 2025.

He National Electoral Council last night approved the call for elections, a decision that will publicly disclose this Wednesday, and has officially set for on August 20 the first electoral round and, if the ballotage is necessary, it will take place on October 15.
