Wagner reportedly shot down three Russian attack helicopters

If Putin confirmed the death of the pilots during the rebellion of the Wagner group, he did not name the figure. Some Russian Telegram channels that track Russian military activity, including the Rybar blog, which has over a million subscribers, reported the deaths of 13 Russian pilots as early as Saturday. Among the downed aircraft were three Mi-8 MTPR electronic warfare helicopters and an Il-18 aircraft with a crew, Rybar claims.

In his audio recording, Yevgeny Prigozhin admits that his people were forced to shoot down attacking helicopters.

In his speech, President Putin paid tribute to the pilots who died in the weekend mutiny, confirming for the first time that Russian pilots died in action as a group of Wagner mercenaries marched on Moscow. “The courage and selflessness of the fallen hero pilots saved Russia from tragic and devastating consequences,” he said.
