Milei government allows channels to report “threats” from social leaders

On the eve of the first mass demonstration during the Government of Javier Mileispokesperson for the Presidency, Manuel Adorniannounced this Tuesday that they have created a telephone line to report social leaders who “threaten” beneficiaries of social plans to “force” them to protest.

“Line 134 will be open to anyone who feels threatened by any leader, intermediary or political leader, or anyone who warns that if they go to March, the plan will not be withdrawn“, confirmed the presidential spokesperson at a daily press conference in Pink Househeadquarters of Executive power.

This is a measure announced by the Ministry of Human Capital on Monday, which will seek to audit social organizations so that they deliver social plans with a view to eliminating intermediation in the granting of these aid paid by the State to vulnerable and unemployed sectors.

“Don’t believe it and call because we have a team prepared to deal with each case. The plan will not be cut, stay at home, of course it is a constitutional right to demonstrate, do as the law requires and we will respect the protocol of the Minister of Security’s resolution, Patricia Bullrichhe added Adorni.

In this sense, the spokesperson indicated that “The decision has been made and the law will be applied.” and repeated that anyone who speaks out outside the protocol’anti-picketing‘ will be identified and will lose state assistance.

The protocol establishes that protests can only be held on sidewalks, anyone who blocks the streets will be sanctioned, as will anyone who does, organizes, instigates or is “partners in crime”.

The security forces involved in the operation will be able to carry firearms, they will also search the organizations involved, they will prohibit protesting with their faces covered or taking children to the marches and they will notify Migrations if participants are foreigners with temporary residence.

We do not want circulation to be cut off in Argentina, not only on 9 de Julio (the main artery of Buenos Aires), but in the rest of the country. “Free movement must be guaranteed.”insisted the presidential spokesman.

In turn, left-wing social organizations are preparing for the ‘20D‘, a new anniversary of the violent protests of December 20, 2001, which ended with 39 deaths and the resignation of the late radical president Fernando de la Rúa (1999-2001) in a context similar to the current one with high inflation and poverty.
