Armed group kidnaps 12 Mexicans in southern state of Guerrero

An armed group kidnapped 12 people in the Mexican municipality of Alarcón Taxin the south of the state of Warrioramid a series of massacres and mass disappearances this December in the country.

O State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) of Guerrero reported this Thursday that there has been no formal report of the incident, but that it has already begun the search for the victims, most of whom are municipal government employees and their families, in coordination with the Mexican Army and the National guard.

Workers from that municipality, located in the northern region of Warriorindicated to the media that the plagiarism occurred on Tuesday afternoon in two separate events.

Initially, a commando arrived at the solid waste transfer unit and took the manager and four other people, including three women.

In another incident, armed men took away the director of the Taxco Landfilla driver and five collectors.

In this regard, the FGE initiated an investigation into the crime of disappearance committed by private individuals within the scope of its duties, insisting that there is no formal complaint.

The Attorney General’s Office continues with office and field investigations, as well as search operations to clarify the crime and quickly locate the victims.”, he reported.

Authorities attributed the crimes that plague that region and others in Guerrero to the criminal group of The Michoacán Family.

Only on December 25th, armed men kidnapped a couple of teachers, who hours later were found murdered inside a vehicle.

Previously, on December 22, armed men attacked a group of Municipal Police with five injured.

In November, gunmen kidnapped three Taxco journalists and their family members in separate incidents, one of whom is still missing.

Mass massacres and disappearances have worsened in Mexico this December.

Criminals murdered five university students on December 3 in the municipality of Celayain the central state of Guanajuato.

In the same state, a shooting at a party left 11 dead and 14 injured on December 17th.

While on December 8th people disappeared after a shooting perpetrated by the Michoacana Family in Texcaltitlánat the State of Mexicowhose Public Ministry raised the official number of missing people this Wednesday to 14.
