Luis Iberico: “We started from the premises and we have to get a good result”

With three goals against Sporting Cristal, it could be said that Luis Iberico was Melgar’s figure in the semi-final key of Peruvian soccer League 1. What comes now is the definition for the national title against Alianza Lima, a challenge for which, according to the 24-year-old striker, the ‘Domino’ is ready.

“We know that difficult things are coming. We have played many games this year, but we are ready. We have done it in the Copa Sudamericana, trying to face the Peruvian league, so we are prepared for it”said Iberico, in statements to GOLPERU.

Also, the former player from the Universidad San Martín, made it clear that in Arequipa, where the first leg will be played, Melgar will seek to take advantage of his locality. “We will try to find the result first in Arequipa. We start from the premises and we have to get a good result and, then, on Saturday”commented.

On the other hand, Iberico confessed his enthusiasm for being part of the ‘Blanquirroja’ again. “The issue of selection is always present. One always wants to be in the national team, but now I am focused on Melgar “pointed out the attacker, who scored a brace against Sporting Cristal last Wednesday and, this Sunday, was the author of a goal.

When will the League 1 finals be played?

Alianza Lima and Melgar will fight to win the national title. The first leg of League 1 will be played on Wednesday, November 9, at the UNSA Monumental Stadium (Arequipa). Just three days later, on Saturday the 12th, this year’s champion will be revealed after the second leg. That match will take place at the Alejandro Villanueva Stadium.
