Michael Espinoza will direct the Melgar vs. Alianza Lima for the first leg

Melgar eliminated Sporting Cristal and will play the League 1 2022 title against Alianza Lima. The Arequipa team will receive this Wednesday, November 9, the blue and white team (3 pm) at the UNSA Monumental Stadium in the first leg.

In this sense, the National Commission of Arbitrators (Conar) appointed the judges who will impart justice in said commitment. In this regard, Edwin Ordoñez will be the main one, according to information from the agency on social networks.

Also, Alberth Alarcón and Alex Valdiviezo will serve as first and second assistant, respectively. Along the same lines, Jesús Cartagena was chosen as the fourth referee. In addition, David Huamán and Luis Seminario will be the additional judges in the contest.

Let us remember that it is not the first time that the 35-year-old judge has directed Alianza Lima in a final, since he also did it in the one that the ‘Intimates’ played against Deportivo Binacional in 2019. The result of that day, valid for the first leg, it was a resounding 4-1 in favor of the ‘Powerful of the South’ in Juliaca.

How is the champion of League 1 defined?

The first criterion to define the champion between Alianza Lima vs. Melgar is the number of points in the finals: the team that wins one match and draws the other will receive the title. In the event that each club has obtained a victory, the squad that has scored the most goals will receive the trophy (away goals have no extra value).

If equality persists (also in case of ties in both matches), the duel will go directly to the penalty round. There will be no overtime.
