The United States Embassy in Belarus calls on its nationals to leave the country

The Embassy of USA in minsk has asked its citizens to leave this country “immediately” after the closure of two border crossings between belarus and Lithuaniaaccording to a statement published on the website of the diplomatic legation.

“US citizens in belarus they must leave immediately”, indicates the note.

Washington recalls that the Lithuanian government recently closed two border crossings with belarus and only four other points remain open.

While, “the governments of Poland, Lithuania and Latvia have stated that more border crossings may be closed with belarus“, alert.

For this reason, he called on the Americans to consider leaving belarus through the open border crossings with Latvia, Lithuania“or by plane”.

“US citizens are not allowed to enter Poland by land from belarus. do not travel to Russia nor to Ukraine”, adds the note.

Vilnius announced last week the closure of two border crossings with belarus in response to the presence of mercenaries of the Wagner group in the neighboring country.

According to Lithuanian media, the measure could be the first step towards the complete closure of the border with belarus.
