Earthquake in Morocco: where is King Mohammed VI?

It is silence that raises questions. While the world discovered in horror this Saturday, the morning of September 9, the terrible destruction caused by the earthquake in Morocco, and the entire international community reacted by expressing its solidarity, one person stood out among those absent: Mohammed VI.

For several hours, heads of state around the world expressed their deep emotions over the growing number of victims; the King of Morocco did not react. It was his office that declared three days of national mourning.

According to Le Parisien – Today in France, Mohammed VI was not in his country when the earth shook. But in France, where he has not been since June 2022.

The Emperor was supposed to arrive there on September 1, not to go to his home in Oise, but for medical reasons, since Mohammed VI suffers from sarcoidosis, an immune disease that threatens the heart. In 2018, he already underwent surgery in a Paris clinic. However, this Saturday French authorities refused to give any confirmation.
