VIDEO. In the Gaza Strip, Mecca, a miracle baby was born by caesarean section after the death of his mother.

“I expected my little girl to die. But doctors managed to give birth to her posthumously, by caesarean section. Ayman Abu Chamala, the father of little Mecca, is still in shock. On October 21, he lost his wife and two children, ages 3 and 9. All three were killed in Israeli bombing. “My wife was hanging laundry on the balcony when the strike happened, the explosion threw her from the third floor to the neighbors below. I expected her and the child in her womb to die after such a fall,” continues the grieving father. His wife’s last wish was to pull the child out of her womb and let him live. The couple has already chosen the name Mecca.

The baby was born by caesarean section after his mother had just died. Mecca was then rushed to the pediatric ward of the UAE Red Crescent Hospital in Rafah. “When she arrived here the baby was in very serious condition and she was immediately put on life support. But the first diagnosis is disappointing because the brain was deprived of oxygen between the time the mother died and the birth,” explains Mohammad Salameh, head of the hospital’s emergency department. “It is very likely that she will suffer permanent consequences. »

According to local authorities, more than 2,000 children have been among the 5,000 people killed in the Gaza Strip since the Israeli bombing began. For several days now, doctors have been warning about the situation in hospitals, which are experiencing a serious shortage of medicines and equipment.
